Did you know?Do you know why this coastal area is called the "Treasure Coast"? ANSWER: This area got its name, because in 1715 the Spanish Plate Fleet was struck by a hurricane off our coast. The vessels sank carrying untold amounts of gold, silver, and the “Queens Jewels”. Still today, salvagers work to recover the treasures that were lost to the sea and our sandy shores.
