Night Sounds

Listed below are the Night Sounds Concert Series held at Sebastian Inlet State Park. All concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. and last about 2 hours. Please bring your favorite folding chair and enjoy lovely music while watching the sun set over Sebastian Inlet. The Inlet Grill will sell soft drinks, water, snacks, hamburgers and hot dogs.  Night Sounds Concerts are held September through May.  The concerts are held on Friday or Saturday evenings nearest the full moon.

The concert is free with regular park entrance fees. The concert will be held at the pavilions on Coconut Point located on the south side of Sebastian Inlet Bridge.

20th Street Jazz Band

The 20th Street Jazz Band is a 15 piece band that plays traditional jazz standards, favorite swing and popular music.  Their concerts bring out big smiles and get the dancers up and “cutting the rug.”

Penny Creek Band

The Penny Creek Band plays heart-felt, hard driving bluegrass music.  Combining traditional bluegrass, vintage country, fresh originals material, tons of energy and excitement.  The Penny Creek Band provide smooth harmonies, heavy rhythm, and dynamic instrumentation.  Their music delivers tons of variety that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats while tapping their toes.

Rod MacDonald

Rod MacDonald is a folk singer and songwriter, novelist, and educator.   Since the mid-seventies he has released 11 solo recordings in the United States, 8 in Europe, and 21 songs with Smithsonian Folkways.  In 2006, he became an instructor for the Florida Atlantic University, hosting the lecture and performance series “Music Americana”, where he was awarded the Distinguished Faculty Award in 2012.  Rod MacDonald has been named one of the “Ten Greatest South Florida Folksingers of All Time.”  His CD “Later that Night” reached the top ten in national folk music charts in 2014.  As part of the band called Big Brass Bed, they were named the “Best Folk Band” in 2016 in Palm Beach County.  The content of Rod MacDonald’s songs covers political and social events.  His songs possess words that go straight into your heart and soul.

SIRSY is an Indie Pop Rock duo that The Boston Globe calls “Little band, big sounds”.  SIRSY’s music is chock full fo soul and sincerity, with a touch of sass.  They have CD’s of original music.  Their lyrics can be a little dark or introspective but their stage presents radiantes joy.  The Times Union says “Clever, smart songs with more hooks than a tackle box”.  Melanie Krahmer’s voice is capable of a lion’s roar or a floaty whisper.  Rich Libutti’s guitar work has been called “Killer rock guitar riffs” by Instrumental Magazine.  Together they have created a dynamic, full sound.  Their newest CD was produced by Grammy winning producer Paul Kolderie and Sean Slade.
