Night Sounds

Listed below are the Night Sounds Concert Series held at Sebastian Inlet State Park. Most concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. and last about 2 hours. Please bring your favorite folding chair and enjoy lovely music while watching the sun set over Sebastian Inlet. The BG’s Surfside Grill and Adventures will sell soft drinks, water, snacks, hamburgers and hot dogs.  Night Sounds Concerts are held September through May.  The concerts are held on Friday or Saturday evenings nearest the full moon.  Often the moon rises over the stage accentuating a wonderful outdoor concert evening.

The concert is free with regular park entrance fees. The concert will be held at the pavilions on Coconut Point located on the south side of Sebastian Inlet Bridge.

Rod MacDonald

Rod MacDonald is a folk singer and songwriter, novelist, and educator.   Since the mid-seventies he has released 11 solo recordings in the United States, 8 in Europe, and 21 songs with Smithsonian Folkways.  In 2006, he became an instructor for the Florida Atlantic University, hosting the lecture and performance series “Music Americana”, where he was awarded the Distinguished Faculty Award in 2012.  Rod MacDonald has been named one of the “Ten Greatest South Florida Folksingers of All Time.”  His CD “Later that Night” reached the top ten in national folk music charts in 2014.  As part of the band called Big Brass Bed, they were named the “Best Folk Band” in 2016 in Palm Beach County.  The content of Rod MacDonald’s songs covers political and social events.  His songs possess words that go straight into your heart and soul.

Alize has been getting people dancing to their reggae music with many years.  Recently reformed with some new band members which have ignited the positive reggae vibe.  Alize also blends other types of music into their show including Island, SOCA, Top 40, Funk, Soft Rock and even a little country.

SIRSY is an Indie Pop Rock duo that The Boston Globe calls “Little band, big sounds”.  SIRSY’s music is chock full fo soul and sincerity, with a touch of sass.  They have CD’s of original music.  Their lyrics can be a little dark or introspective but their stage presents radiantes joy.  The Times Union says “Clever, smart songs with more hooks than a tackle box”.  Melanie Krahmer’s voice is capable of a lion’s roar or a floaty whisper.  Rich Libutti’s guitar work has been called “Killer rock guitar riffs” by Instrumental Magazine.  Together they have created a dynamic, full sound.  Their newest CD was produced by Grammy winning producer Paul Kolderie and Sean Slade.

Diamond Dixie

Diamond Dixie is an up and coming country duo from Orlando Florida consisting of sisters, Gabriela and Bianca LeDuc.  Diamond Dixie plays their own special versions of covers and original music, as well as fun videos.  Their shows have people dancing in the isles and rows and other seating, smiling and tapping their toes.
