One of the ways the FSISP raises money is though the gift shops we run at the two museums at the Sebastian Inlet State Park.
Fishing MuseumEstablished in 1998, the Sebastian Fishing Museum preserves the cultural and historical past of Sebastian’s commercial and recreational fishing community. Take a step back in time and walk along a replica dock and fish house, listen to the sounds and stories of the fisherman of the past and lay your eyes on Coolidge Judah’s homemade fishing boat from the 1940’s. Currently on exhibition is the Sebastian Inlet Tax Districts roving History of Sebastian Inlet panel display. This timeline features photographs and documents from the last 100 years of the Sebastian Inlet from the 1800’s to the present day. Have a seat in one of our rocking chairs and enjoy a 24 minute video which explores the history and diverse wildlife of the Indian River Lagoon. The Museum is open 7days a week 10am-4pm and is free with regular park admission. The Nautical Nook Gift Shop, open 7days a week 10am-4pm, is located inside the Sebastian Fishing Museum. |

McLarty Treasure Museum
Located in Beautiful Sebastian Inlet State Park, on the spot where the survivors and salvagers of the 1715 Spanish Fleet camped, the McLarty Treasure Museum is dedicated to telling their story. This is the premier place to learn about why the Treasure Coast is so special and how it got its name. Volunteers and staff are dedicated to teaching about and preserving the stories, artifacts, and treasures in our collection. New displays and a minor renovation over the recent shutdown make the McLarty a must see, even for those who have been many times before. Come be a part of our story. Visitors, volunteers and donations are always welcome and needed, as we strive to better interpret and preserve our local history. We look forward to sharing our museum with you soon.
Admission is only $2 per person, and the museum is open 7 days a week 10am-4pm.
